Chuck Finnie is a uniquely experienced communications strategist who trained on both sides of the notebook, lens and microphone.
Through a two-decade journalism career, Chuck worked as a beat writer, investigative reporter and editor in newsrooms of leading metropolitan, alternative weekly and legal-affairs publications in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles and Washington, DC. At the Hearst-owned San Francisco Chronicle and Examiner newspapers, Chuck covered and directed coverage of San Francisco’s politics, city and county government, criminal justice system and public schools.
Over the next eight years, he crafted and executed communication and media strategies at Barnes Mosher Whitehurst Lauter and Partners to help clients of one of the Bay Area’s most successful campaign and public affairs consultancies meet their objectives at the ballot box, in the halls of government and in the marketplace of ideas.
Chuck formed Chuck Finnie Communications to draw together the lessons learned and relationships made along the way—and put them to work on behalf of mission-driven individuals, organizations and causes to help them achieve their goals.
